Afternoon seminar 'Highlights Employment Law in the WWZ era'

More than a year ago, the second tranche of the Work and Security Act (WWZ) came into effect. From the outset it was clear that the WWZ would have major consequences for labor law, including for flexible employment relationships, dismissal law and severance pay. Another important development is the abolition of the VAR declaration for the self-employed as of May 1, 2016. These changes and the consequences for practice have now become increasingly clear. On November 8, 15 and 17, 2016, we will organize three seminars in which we will consider the consequences of WWZ for practice: what are the changes and developments more than a year later? How do the judges judge? And what does this mean for your organization?

The following topics and questions will be discussed during the seminars:

  • The changes to labor law announced during Budget Day 2016, among others.
  • The new dismissal law and the grounds for dismissal, with an emphasis on (serious) culpable conduct, dysfunction, the disturbed employment relationship and the 'residual ground'. How do judges deal with this?
  • The immediate dismissal. What are the opportunities and risks?
  • The transition compensation and the fair compensation. When is an employee entitled to fair compensation?
  • How is the amount determined?
  • The necessary adjustments to your employment contract and the settlement agreement. What should you definitely include and what shouldn't you include?

Other new legislation will also be discussed, such as the DBA Act and the disappeared VAR statement.

In short, time for an update!
