Seminar & Workshops “Current Affairs Privacy”
In 2022, the Dutch Data Protection Authority imposed fines for the lack of risk analyzes (DPIA), the use of blacklists, insufficient security measures and the unnecessary requesting of identity documents when requesting access. When it comes to international data transfers to the US, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel. The European Data Protection Board also did not sit idle last year and drew up new (draft) guidelines. In addition, the EU is busy with the “European Data Strategy” and associated new legislation.
What can you learn from the AP's fine decisions, what are developments to take into account, what new European regulations are coming in the field of data and how compliant is your company (still) approximately 5 years after the GDPR comes into effect?
Our experienced lawyers will be happy to update you during the Current Affairs Privacy seminar on March 30, 2023
Workshops
After a plenary session on current affairs, a workshop round will take place, where you can choose from the following two interactive workshops:
- Commercial data use
Floortje Eijdems and Floris de Vriend will guide you through the topic of commercial data use based on current events and practical examples. Consider the question of whether or not a purely commercial interest constitutes a legitimate interest (processing ground) and the rules for sending newsletters. But also: what should your cookie banner look like? When does consent meet the requirements of GDPR? Furthermore, topics such as ownership & data and new European regulations in this area. - Privacy in the workplace
Suzan Wolters will work with you on privacy in the workplace. Through case positions, topics are discussed such as: what rights do employees have? How can you apply email monitoring and what should you take into account when investigating fraud? What are the consequences of violating the GDPR in a dismissal case? But also: how do you prevent data leaks through your staff?
