Privacy

With the advent of the General Data Protection Regulation ("AVG"), as of May 25, 2018, there will be new requirements for processing personal data.
Organizations must be able to demonstrate compliance with the AVG provisions. Privacy is therefore not an optional extra. Moreover, violation of the aforementioned legislation can lead to severe penalties.

Privacy also plays an important role in the employment relationship. Are you allowed to monitor employees with (hidden) cameras? May you monitor e-mail traffic? What are the rules when recording sick leave? How long may you keep a personnel file? Have you informed your employees about the processing of personnel data and do your personnel regulations provide sufficient safeguards?

For questions like these, please contact Suzan Wolters of the Labor Law Section. Together with the specialists of the Privacy Practice Group, she will be happy to provide you with practical advice.

The possibilities also include giving a presentation or workshop within your company or a privacy check of your personnel administration.
