Tenancy Law

The Rental Law Section works in both commercial real estate and residential rental law. Commercial real estate includes stores, gas stations, offices, warehouses and manufacturing facilities. Clients include both tenants (such as retailers) and landlords (such as investors). In residential rental law, clients are housing associations and healthcare institutions.

The Rental Law practice group has extensive experience in issues concerning asbestos, rent review procedures (the so-called 'Article 7:303 procedures'), lease termination due to urgent own use, renovation of shopping centers, business premises and residences, the concurrence of rent and franchise, leasing with energy performance contracts (including 'zero on the meter'), defects to the leased property (including climate installations) and the temporary leasing of residential property under the Leegstandwet (Empty Premises Act).
