Relationship property law
Most people do not think about the financial consequences of being in a relationship. Often partners start living together without a cohabitation agreement, get married without thinking about it in community of property or on unthought through prenuptial agreements. It is very important to consider this deliberately. Not infrequently, when partners decide to separate or when one of them dies, they are unpleasantly surprised by the property consequences of their actions during or prior to their relationship. To create a financially and emotionally stable basis for the future after a divorce, divorce or death, good legal assistance is indispensable before, during and also afterwards.
We advise and assist not only in the event of divorce or separation, but also at the start of the relationship to make a conscious choice of property regime. This is also known as premarital mediation. Changes almost always occur during the relationship, so interim advice on whether or not to adjust the previously chosen property regime is important and can prevent many problems afterwards. We therefore guide you from the beginning of the relationship through to the settlement of its termination by (divorce) or death.
